Cancellation Policy
For cancellations, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule or receive a refund. Students found in violation of the Clay Commandments, listed below, will no longer be welcome to participate in the studio. 1. Be kind and courteous. This is a community studio. We want everyone to feel safe and welcome here. Let your behavior reflect that. 2. Students pay for their allotted studio time. Respect your fellow classmates time and money by only attending the sessions you have enrolled in. Don’t arrive early, as some private lessons may still be in progress, and allow yourself time to clean up. 3. Clean up after yourself. Please leave the studio and tools as you found them (or cleaner) and store items in their designated locations. If you don’t know where something goes, ask your fellow classmates and they will kindly show you. (See rule #1) 4. Food and drink are welcome, but safety and cleanliness are a priority. Do not partake while using hazardous substances or while operating machinery. Please rinse cans and bottles when you are done and place them in the provided bin. Wash any dishes used. 5. Work is fragile. Do not load or unload kilns. Work belongs on designated shelves. Do not arrange others’ work on a shelf. If there is no space on a shelf, consult Instructor. Accidents will happen, but we can minimize them this way. Work that is not signed or work that has been left for three months will become property of Wheel House Studio. 6. Supplies are given according to the class in which you are enrolled. A single 7-week session includes one 25 lb. bag of clay, and one additional bag may be purchased during a session. Unused clay from previous sessions may only be used if a student is enrolled in a consecutive session. Materials originating from outside the studio may only be used with advanced permission. Work being fired must be created in the studio, during the current session. 7. Production pottery is not allowed. Do not mass-produce work with the intention to sell it. The focus of Wheel House Studio is learning and experimentation. 8. Plan to attend every class in your session, as classes may only be made up during a current session with advanced permission from Instructor. Only one class may be made up per session. Open Labs are optional and may not be made up. Open Lab may only be attended by students currently enrolled in a session, or by students invited to finish work that was started at a special event. 9. Students and guests may not park in the lot behind Wheel House Studio at any time. No loading or idling allowed. 10. Failure by Instructor to enforce any of these commandments does not constitute acceptance of a change in terms. Students are still required to adhere to these rules. At the discretion of Instructor, Students may be asked to leave an individual class, or remainder of a session, for failing to comply with any of the listed rules.Â
